This song was written after a trip to my father's childhood home in a rural suburb outside of Athens. For so long, I had been singing about romantic desires but never about what I would feel like if my love was reciprocated. I imagined that I would one day bring a partner to the place I came from, and spend our days there. Fig Tree paints an idyllic life, one where time is almost standing still while you slowly return to dust.
