about

I had to sit with my positive experience and recognize that just because it was enjoyable did not mean it would be permanent. This is tied back to the idea of being under a spell, that experiencing love was just a magic rush we were addicted to. The chorus itself was written while dancing through a panic attack, allowing the whole song to be a bit ambiguous over subject material. Am I dancing to remember the body of another or reminding myself that I am a magic rush myself, and that I am real on my own. Nothing lasts forever, good or bad, and all we can do is dance through our emotions.

lyrics

I can't wrap my head around the way I'm supposed to feel
Do we just let it sit in time
Forgetting what was real?

I guess I leave this moment in the moment that it was
Overthinking every word and crying just because

So I dance to remember this body
Not a chance that I'm getting you off me
You're my spell
Nothing else matters if I've got you moving with me

Nothing lasts forever but it's better when it lasts
I thought I'd keep this moment
But I hope it passes fast
Maybe you won't stick around
And leave me with the leaves
Another touch, another hand disappearing with the breeze

So I dance to remember this body
Not a chance that I'm getting you off me
You're my spell
Nothing else matters if I've got you moving with me
Are you close enough?
Can you feel my touch?
You're my magic rush
And I see you're forever with me

Would you know, if I let go?
Like Calypso, if I let go?
Could you tell under my spell, that you loved me?

So I dance to remember this body
Not a chance that I'm getting you off me
You're my spell
Nothing else matters if I've got you moving with me
Are you close enough?
Can you feel my touch?
You're my magic rush
And I see you're forever with me
